Play Chess

Chess on a wooden board in your pocket: every legal move enforced, including castling, en passant and promotion, and a running tally of who wins.

2 players

What you can do

  • Keep score on a sheet made for Chess
  • Play it right on your phone, no physical set needed
  • Play against the computer at three levels: Easy, Medium and Hard
  • Play together on several phones over the same Wi-Fi
  • Read the rules and variants in the app
  • Every finished match counts in each player's statistics

How braggster keeps score

Each finished game scores a point for the winner and nothing for a draw, so an evening becomes a session tally like 5 to 3. Play on one phone, against the computer at Easy, Medium or Hard, or with Play together on two phones, where the last move is marked on both boards.

Questions about Chess

Is Chess free in braggster?

Every game, Chess included, is free for your first 10 plays across the app. After that you can keep Chess as your one game that stays free forever, or unlock every game with a one-time purchase or a yearly subscription.

Can we play Chess on several phones?

Yes. With Play together, one phone starts a table and shows a code, the others scan it, and each player plays from their own phone over the same Wi-Fi. No account and no internet needed, and joining is free.

Can I play Chess against the computer?

Yes, at three levels: Easy, Medium and Hard. Practice games against the computer do not count toward your statistics.
